OEM Point-Level Sensing Electronics

Capacitive Sensor Electronics

Application-tuned level detection for liquids and semi-liquids.

EIB Solutions supplies the electronic sensing platform for integration into an OEM’s probe, process fitting and enclosure. Dedicated variants can be configured for water-rich dairy products, fats and oils, and selected hydrocarbon or alcohol-based liquids.

Media-Specific Models

Different products need different sensing behaviour.

Capacitive response depends on the dielectric properties of the material, electrode geometry and installation. EIB configures each electronics variant for a defined product family rather than treating every liquid as identical.

01
H₂O+

Water-Rich Dairy Products

Models for milk and related liquid products with relatively high water content and a correspondingly strong dielectric response.

  • Milk and dairy beverages
  • Water-rich food liquids
  • Tank or pipe point-level detection
02
FAT

Fats & Edible Oils

A separate sensing configuration for lower-dielectric products such as milk fat, butter, ghee and vegetable oils.

  • Butter and milk-fat products
  • Ghee
  • Vegetable and edible oils
03
HC

Hydrocarbons & Alcohols

Application-specific versions for compatible fuels, solvents and alcohol-based liquids after medium and installation evaluation.

  • Petrol and hydrocarbon liquids
  • Ethanol and selected alcohols
  • Compatible process liquids
04
VIS

Semi-Liquids & Viscous Media

Electronics can be tuned for selected semi-liquid or pasty products, subject to probe design, coating behaviour and validation in the real process.

  • Viscous food products
  • Semi-liquid process materials
  • Application-tested calibration

Operating Principle

Detect the material—not electrical conductivity.

The electrode and surrounding vessel or reference structure form a capacitor. When product covers the sensing region, its dielectric properties change the measured capacitance.

01

Establish the Empty State

The electronics establish the baseline capacitance of the probe and installation without product at the sensing point.

02

Measure the Dielectric Change

Product entering the sensing zone changes capacitance according to the medium, probe geometry and mounting arrangement.

03

Evaluate the Threshold

Application-tuned signal processing distinguishes the required covered and uncovered states.

04

Signal the Machine Control

The configured output communicates product presence or the selected high/low point-level condition to the OEM control system.

Machine Applications

One sensing principle, several control tasks.

Point-level electronics can support automated filling, product transfer and equipment protection when the complete sensing assembly is properly engineered and validated.

01

High-Level Detection

Signal when material reaches a defined maximum level in a vessel.

02

Low-Level Detection

Identify a minimum level for refill logic or process sequencing.

03

Overflow Prevention

Provide an independent point signal for the OEM’s overfill-control strategy.

04

Dry-Run Protection

Confirm product presence before operating a pump or transfer stage.

05

Pipe Product Detection

Detect whether compatible process material is present at a defined location in a pipe.

06

Filling & Transfer Control

Supply a repeatable switching input for automated batch or transfer equipment.

Clear Integration Boundary

EIB provides the electronics. The OEM completes the sensor.

The finished assembly must be engineered around the actual process, medium and regulatory environment.

EIB Solutions Scope

OEM Sensing Electronics

  • Capacitive sensing and signal-processing PCB
  • Application-specific sensitivity and threshold tuning
  • Output and interface configuration by project
  • PCB form-factor and connector adaptation
  • Prototype support and production supply
  • White-label options for suitable OEM programmes
OEM / System Scope

Mechanical & Process Assembly

  • Probe electrode and reference geometry
  • Sensor body, enclosure and process connection
  • Wetted materials, sealing and hygienic design
  • Pressure, temperature and cleanability validation
  • EMC, electrical safety and required approvals
  • Hazardous-area compliance where applicable

Important: Detection of petrol, ethanol or other flammable media requires a complete assembly specifically engineered and certified for the installation. The electronics module alone does not constitute hazardous-area approval.
